SCIENCE BOWL REGISTRATION

Registration for the 2027 Minnesota Science Bowls is open. Here’s all the info about how to register your school and to pay your registration fees.

October 5, 2026: Pre-Registration Opens

11:59PM November 23, 2026: Registration deadline for 1st team

December 15, 2026: High school final registration deadline

January 15, 2027: Middle School final registration deadline

ONLINE SCHOOL/COACH PRE-REGISTRATION

October 5 - November 23, 2026

The first step is to register your school.

Coaches must register their school on the National Science Bowl website. (See the National SB Coach Registration Guide). After your school is approved, you will receive instructions on how to enter student details and send consent/media release forms to parents/delegates for electronic signature. You will also use your online NSB account to complete your own registration form.

REGISTER FIRST TEAM

By 11:59PM November 23, 2026

Schools can submit between 1 and 3 Science Bowl teams. The National Science Bowl website requires that your first team is registered by 11:59PM November 23, 2026.

Submitting a team requires that all student forms and information is filled out. However, if you have multiple teams, you can move your students between rosters (see p. 19 of the National SB Coach Registration Guide).

Your first team’s approval will be marked pending until November 24 or after.

PAYMENT

Schools may pay via credit card, PayPal, or check. Fee waivers or reductions are available (see below).

High School = $300 per team

Middle School = $250 per team

Note: You can pay at any point in this process, between Oct. 5 to Dec. 15 (HS) and Jan. 15 (MS).

Fee Waivers are available upon request for teams that may not be able to afford full payment. Please contact the Science Bowl Manager (sciencebowl@mnmas.org) and together we will determine a solution that works best for both your students and our event needs.

FINAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Final registration deadlines, all player info and authorization forms are due:

High School: Tuesday, December 15, 2026
Middle School: Friday, January 15, 2027

Submit student information and media release forms for each team. Your school’s Team 1 can be approved immediately. If your school wants to enter a Team 2 and/or Team 3, you can enter that information too, although Team 2/Team 3 will not be approved until after MAS knows how many different schools have registered (Dec. 15 for high school, Jan. 15 for middle school). It is likely that there will be room for all teams, but if necessary, second and third teams will be selected via a lottery system.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Refunds or cancellations must be requested by email two weeks prior to the event. Refunds will not be given after that date unless there are extenuating circumstances. Requests based on extenuating circumstances must be made by email to the Science Bowl Manager before the program start date. No refunds will be given for late fees.
