Minnesota Academy of Science Welcomes Nicoshia Wynn to Board of Directors
Experienced Leader Will Help Guide Nonprofit

[St. Paul, MN, September 9, 2022] --  The Minnesota Academy of Science (MAS) is honored to welcome Nicoshia Wynn of Brooklyn Park to its Board of Directors. Mrs. Wynn brings extensive experience regarding educational leadership to the Minnesota nonprofit. “I joined the MAS Board of Directors because I believe in providing youth with the opportunity to have access to science experiences that would hopefully lead youth to careers in science,” says Mrs. Wynn.

Mrs. Wynn is the Founder of Relentless Academy, a nonprofit with a mission to prepare youth for academic success. She recently launched a tuition free summer program called S.M.A.R.T. (Science, Math, Art, Reading, Technology) for underserved youth in the Twin Cities. She has over 20 years of experience working in higher education, K-12 education, and corporate leadership, including in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion advancement. Her additional experiences in the nonprofit and educational sectors includes developing youth mentoring programs, supervising youth summer and after school programs, and volunteering for programs involving underserved youth. She earned a Masters in Management degree from The College of St. Scholastica in 2005 and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2001.

“Nicoshia Wynn holds a wealth of knowledge about the importance and impact of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education for Minnesota youth,” said MAS Executive Director Lara Maupin. “Her experience will benefit MAS as we work to open doors to STEM for Minnesotans of all backgrounds.”

Founded in 1873, MAS is a statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to connecting Minnesotans of all backgrounds with resources and opportunities to engage in STEM learning, research, and communication - and to recognize excellence in these areas. MAS’ programs include team competitions, individual research paper and project showcases, and mentoring and enrichment programs that promote STEM inquiry and research.
