This spring, the Minnesota Academy of Science has the opportunity to receive an increase in the funding we receive from the state of Minnesota for our STEM education programs, thanks to a bill introduced in the MN House by Rep. Lucy Rehm and a companion bill introduced in the Senate by Senators Mitchell and Boldon.

Our state funding has not increased since 1997, while costs have gone up and corporate sponsorships have decreased. An increase in state funding will close a critical funding gap and ensure the stability of our programs going forward, enabling us to continue providing unique, long-standing statewide STEM programs such as the Science Fair and Science Bowls to Minnesota students for years to come.

YOU can help by contacting your state legislators to ask them to support increased funding for the Minnesota Academy of Science.
